JGB tapes |
Can anybody fill me in on the status of the supposedly 1,000 hours of JGB tapes that Koons has been promising to release for what seems like forever? Doesn't she need the money? What's the hold up?

My understanding is that the widder Koons lost control of the JGB library in the last round of court battles with Jerry's daughters. Ragged But Right (the complete JGAB repertoire) is the first release under the new regime, with more promised.

Ragged but Right was not the first release by the Garcia Family LLC. I think it is the 4th (two Pure Jerry releases and the one with Nicky Hopkins).
This was what was posted at dead.net when Pure Jerry 8 came out in 2009.

Thanks to all... I'm playing catch-up, obviously. I didn't know how the Pure Jerry releases figured into it.
So what about JGB video? Anyone got the low down on that?

I don't think she needs the money. But I am sure the absence of releases just reflects all of the same complications that have surrounded the Garcia Estate, especially the music, since, ohh, I don't know, 8/10/95?
